Complex speed measurement task on the roller tappet with individually developed sensors

Engineers are constantly faced with new challenges when it comes to speed measurements under difficult environmental conditions.

One example of this is measuring the roller tappet or bearing in order to determine the causes of wear: Which sensor technology is suitable due to the confined space and extreme conditions such as high temperatures and oily environments? And how can meaningful results be achieved?

The following case study describes how the engineering team at Rotec Engineering has developed a customized miniature sensor for the speed pick-up on the roller tappet and derives recommendations for action using suitable measurement technology and analysis software.
